7 officials of the Ministry of Defense received suspicions of corruption - Prosecutor General

Suspicion of corruption has already been reported to 7 officials of the Ministry of Defense. Among them are odious officials who, according to investigators, purchased low-quality bulletproof vests. One case regarding them has already been transferred to HACS.

He noted that two more proceedings are now being investigated regarding the purchase of low-quality body armor and personal protective equipment in the amount of more than 1,4 billion hryvnia, the supply of low-quality winter uniforms in the amount of 945 million hryvnia and the embezzlement of budget funds in the amount of more than 250 million hryvnia.

In addition, law enforcement officers launched more than 220 criminal proceedings on corruption and violations in the field of military records. This is more than 4 times more than in 2022, Kostin noted.

In 2023 and January 2024, 189 military personnel and TCC employees were reported as suspected. This is three times more than in 2022.
